Drip Coffee Maker

Step 1: prepare the mixture of vinegar and water

Mix white vinegar and water. Get a mixture of 3 cups white vinegar to 6 cups of waters.

Step 2: prepare the coffee maker

Pour two to one solution of water to vinegar into the coffee carafe. Fill the coffee maker’s reservoir with water-vinegar solution and then place the carafe on the burner.

Step 3: clean the interior

Turn on the coffee maker. You need to let the water-vinegar mixture drip through the coffee maker and make sure it runs through the entire system. Then turn the machine off and let the mixture cool for 15 to 20 minutes. Repeat the process with some fresh water and vinegar.

Step 4: rinse the interior

Pour the water-vinegar solution out of the carafe and replace it with some fresh water. Let the water drip through the coffee maker back into the carafe. Then discard the water in the carafe.

Step 5: clean the exterior

Use hot, soapy water to wash the carafe and filter basket. Find a clean and soft cloth to wipe down the exterior of the coffee maker.

It is recommended to clean your coffee maker monthly to remove hard water deposits (scale), leftover coffee oils that will affect the flavor of coffee.

Never wash the coffee pot with soap or wash in the dishwasher.
